Thirsties is revolutionizing the most widely used cloth diaper in the world. Prefold cloth diapers are popular for their affordability and are the most common diaper supplied by cloth diaper services. Though they don't share all the bells and whistles as other more modern cloth diapers, they have their definite and permanent place in the industry and they have been proven dependable and economical.
However, Thirsties Duo Hemp Prefolds are no ordinary prefold! We've solved many of the cons of prefold diapers in our patent-pending design. Ordinary prefolds are bulky and take a long time to dry. When hung to dry, they can become stiff and crunchy. In addition, most prefolds are 8 layers thick in the middle, which makes it difficult to clean all layers of the diaper thoroughly.
Thirsties Duo Hemp Prefolds are designed for the freer flow of air and washing water-each panel is only 2 layers thick, permitting thorough cleansing with little effort and quick drying times. Our custom hemp jersey is as soft as your favorite t-shirt and it's knitted with love right here in the USA. Hemp is an ideal diaper fabric as it displays antimicrobial properties, is many times more durable, and is more absorbent than cotton. In fact, our hemp jersey is 25% more absorbent than a prefold of the same weight made from cotton alone! This translates into a very trim and effective cloth diaper with a hefty amount of absorbing power.
Care & Use
Before Use: Thirsties Hemp products need to be washed and dried at least three times before use to rid the fibers of the natural oils. This is done separately from your other diapering products for the first 3 washes. Our hemp products will be fully primed and at their maximum absorbency after 8 wash cycles.
Prewash on cold.
Wash on Hot.
Double rinse.
Line dry or dry in the dryer.

I got the size 1 Duo Hemp Prefold before my son was even born, and loved how soft they were. Almost like a t-shirt kind of material, soft and stretchy. My sister had given me some other prefolds, but they weren’t absorbent enough, and I never liked the way they fit on my son. I had one snappi'd under a fleece cover and as I was holding my son on my hip, he wet and it went straight through like he wasn't even wearing anything at all. Ever since then, I only use Thirsties prefolds - because nothing like that has ever happened with the Duo Hemp Prefolds. Even though they are a lot trimmer, they are so much more absorbent, and still super soft after many washings. So the old prefolds became burp cloths, and the Duo Hemp Prefolds are the only one I use as an actual diaper. The rise still fits my son when tri-folded, so I put them in everything. I actually even use them in some pockets I have.
Just wanted to come let you know how much I *love* your hemp prefolds! My older daughter did great in any pocket diaper or AIO. My newest however got awful rashes. Didn't matter the soap or the diaper. I tried *everything*. Gave up and used disposables. Still always had a rash but not as bad. Found your prefolds and thought I'd give a...nything a try. I bought 12 prefolds, your prewash, your super wash, and your wipes spray. Used some covers I had laying around from my older daughter. Her rash was gone in less than 24 hours! I just got 12 more in and am prepping them tonight. My mother in law is making some fleece covers for me to play with too.
