Most of my pets have had unusual names. My first dog was Icis, then there was Gypsy Rose and Mushka… Mushka is still alive (surprisingly) he has been around forever, it seems.

My dad had a tendency to adopt stray cats when I was a kid. One time, my mom insisted we weren’t adopting the cat, so we called him Stray Kitty. When the inevitable happened and he was allowed inside, Stray Kitty was shortened to S.K., which could also conveniently stand for Smart Kitty or Stupid Kitty, depending on our mood at the time.

We once let my 4 yr old brother name the new puppy. “Follow” was a great dog.

Our cat is named Sprite because she was found as a tiny kitten inside a Coke machine at the local grocery store. My sister-in-law brought her home and we “adopted” Sprite from them.

Ours are Mando and Noodle. Have to keep them away from diapers because their fur sticks to babies’ bottoms!

I work in the veterinary field, so I see lots of names and love to see unique ones. I am guilty of having a Springer Spaniel named Charlie and another named Allie, so I didn’t go to far out of the box on those. My chickens were all named after people under the age of three and are Bunny, Babby and Strawberry.
