I read that you can also strip cloth diapers by adding 1/4 cup of bleach to the wash cycle and doing a double rinse. I’ll have to try this too i’m having a problem with some covers retaining odors.

Thank you for the HE advice. I wish I had a non-HE washing machine just for washing diapers. It seems like it would make life much easier!

thanks for the hot tip! i wash my thirsties in about two tablespoons of all free and clear and havent had any build up ye!

I have soft water and an HE machine and get ammonia smell frequently. I’ve tried a number of things, like a heavy duty hot wash, extra rinses, soaking the diapers, etc. Any suggestions?

I have a front loader HE, any tips for stripping with that? I don’t know if i can fill the tub with water and let them soak in the washer. Can I soak them in RLR in an utility tub then wash them in the washer?

Great tips on stripping cloth diapers. Thankfully, I’ve only had to strip 3 times, and I’ve been cloth diapering for over 18 months.
